How we got here.

Four chapters. One consistent principle underneath them.

    Freelance beginnings

    A small group of engineers taking on independent work across backend, AI, and telecom. The pattern that emerged wasn't accidental — clients came back and referred more clients because the work held up in production.

  2. Chapter 02

    A company, not a collective

    We formalized as Alhabek — a focused engineering firm working globally, still small enough that every project has real senior attention on it. Every founder is an engineer or an operator, not an intermediary.

  3. Chapter 03

    Recognized, without noise

    Ranked in the top 3% on Toptal. Trusted by telecom operators in Bahrain routing millions of daily calls, and AI startups in the US processing hundreds of thousands of tasks. No paid growth. All referral.

  4. Chapter 04

    Rooted in a community

    Alhabek runs Dev Meetups in Addis Ababa — three events so far, over a thousand developers combined. We contribute back to open source and hire from the community whenever we can.

Alhabek organizes and hosts developer meetups in Addis Ababa — a space for engineers in the region to share what they’re building, meet each other, and get sharper. Three events so far. More than a thousand attendees combined.
